Patrick Mahomes proposed to longtime girlfriend Brittany Matthews at Chiefs ring ceremony

The Kansas City Chiefs were at Arrowhead Stadium on Tuesday to celebrate their Super Bowl victory over the 49ers and receive their championship rings.

But Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes didn't just receive a ring -- he gave one out too.

Mahomes proposed to his longtime girlfriend Brittany Matthews on Tuesday. And according to several Instagram Story posts, it looked like Mahomes popped the question via a rose-petaled setup at an Arrowhead Stadium field-level club.

The Chiefs quarterback shared a photo of the impressive ring, tagging Brittany with the caption, "Ring SZN." Matthews shared a photo of the "will you marry me" sign in the decked-out suite.

Since signing his 10-year, $503 million extension, Mahomes has made an extra effort to put down roots in Kansas City. After all, he's going to be there through the 2031 season. Mahomes renovated his home, purchased an ownership stake in the Kansas City Royals and bought a brand-new Ferrari.

The diamond ring was next on the list, apparently.
